Interpreting Psychoeducational Testing – Orton-Gillingham Certified Coursework

The focus of the Interpreting Psychoeducational Testing class is to gain a better understanding of psychological testing and how to use that knowledge to write a student profile and guide teachers/tutors in the planning of OG lessons. This knowledge will help teachers better understand the underlying processing issues of students with dyslexia. Participants will also learn how to describe students to other professionals and to be more diagnostic and prescriptive in their teaching. Topics include but are not limited to:

• The importance of background information
• The importance of school history
• Testing Instruments (example the WISC-V, CTOPP, and various achievement tests)
• Writing a student profile
• Understanding motor and sensory difficulties that impact learning (Occupational Therapy)
• Understanding the role of the Speech Language Pathologist


All classes meet Thursday mornings from 7:30 AM - 9:15 AM.

There is no prerequisite but this class will satisfy 30 hours of 100 hours required for Orton-Gillingham Academy Certified Level Coursework.

This course is eligible for a payment plan.

Individuals who choose the payment plan option must pay a 20% deposit plus 4% non-refundable credit card administrative fee at the time of registration through a credit/debit card and then set up a FACTS Payment Plan via the FACTS website. Monthly payments are made as a bank draft from a checking or savings account. Credit card payments are also available through FACTS with a separate fee structure. The monthly payment plan runs for eight months beginning in September and ending in April.
