This workshop focuses on gaining a better understanding of psychological testing and how to use that knowledge. This knowledge will help teachers better understand the underlying processing issues of students with dyslexia. Participants will also learn how to describe students to other professionals and to be more diagnostic and prescriptive in their teaching. Topics include but are not limited to:
- The importance of background information
- The importance of school history
- Testing Instruments (for example the WISC-V, CTOPP, and various achievement tests)
This is a 12-hour course that satisfies some of the coursework requirement at the Certified Level of certification with the Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA).
Prerequisite: There is no prerequisite for this class but having coursework at the Classroom Educator Level or Associate Level is highly preferred.
